Sabah 101

The following contents may be expressed exaggeratedly :P

Some time ago, my friend told me he made a trip to Sabah during his holiday with some friends. He concluded that the state was the most wondrous, beautiful, heavenly place that people definitely should visit on in their lifetime (haha!). As much as I want to brag, he’s so right about it :P While not being overly develop as compare to KL, or other states, it has its bits of glory on its own. Not to mention the friendly folks!

Since my friend’s holiday was quite short, he didn’t experience Sabah to the fullest, yet in the end he felt satisfied with it. There’s quite a lot of things you can try and do here, just that, you need to plan it carefully and of course enjoy while doing it. Down below are the list you should try or experience if you ever go to Sabah.

1. The traditional food is a MUST try :D (Hinava, tuhau, fried red durians and etc)

2. And not to mention the variety of food there as well (Ikan bakar anyone? :D). I’m kinda lazy to list it down, so take a look at the list on the link below if you wanna know more (Courtesy of Daniel Wong).

3. The tip of borneo, Simpang Mengayau, Kudat should be in your must-go-to-places list.

4. Try at least one of the traditional musical instruments.

5. Inhale the fresh air of Kundasang, a place situated near the Mount Kinabalu.

6. Climb Mount Kinabalu (although I, myself haven’t climb it hahaha)

7. Visit Sabah’s natural heritage site and park.

8. Take a dip in the Poring natural hot spring at Ranau, Sabah.

9. Visit one of the wondrous islands in Sabah and take a dive and swim around the blissful coral reef. I suggest Sipadan or Manukan ;)

10. “Araimi ti” will be part of your lingo all the time when you are there :P

11. Visit Gaya Street

12. The month of May is perfect for visiting Sabah, especially during the end of the month as it is brimming with cultures.

Extra tidbits :D

No matter what you think, we don’t live in a tree and most of the sabahan does NOT live in the jungle anymore. I don’t live in a jungle nor in a tree and so does my ancestor. That said, makes me wonder where they got that idea from anyway.

Traditional costume doesn’t mean leaves and stick or/and bamboo. You are thinking of other totally different ethnics that wasn't in Sabah.

Sarawak and Sabah are two different states. I remember someone ask me this dumb question =.=

So does Labuan.

Contrary to popular believes, we do not indulge in exotic food (worms, insects, etc). Again, you are thinking of other country.

Durian merah, Durio zibethinus, is a species of durian that you can ONLY find in the land of borneo.

Interestingly, you might confused a natives to be a chinese and vice versa. This happens a lot.

Natives =/= Orang Asli. Don't get confuse.

In certain areas, cows rule the road. No kidding!

Don’t in any circumstances use taxi as your transport (this should be your last resort). You’ll be left with mouth opened when the taxi driver tells you the price at the end of your journey.

That’s all for now as right now I am feeling very sleepy. I shall write more about Sabah next time :) Till then, Adieu!

Autumn Leaves

A drop of leaf

fallen.
It had saw and live the spring and summer lives,
ends.
Memories held still, however. Giving chance for others to grow. A new leaf.
A new meaning.
You've given me that :-)
Ok, back to studying xD

Fate

What are the chances of me furthering study here in KL instead of studying back at my hometown.
What are the chances of me finding the college in which I am studying now instead of many other colleges here in Malaysia.
What are the chances of me meeting and befriending friends of which I value the most.
What are the chances of me being where I am today of which is because of my own decision and choices.
Which leads me to you :)
Miles away and yet, what are the chances of me meeting you.
A spark of interest leading up to friendship and will eventually lead to something more.
An inspiration to me.
A safe path, my happy medium :)
What am I talking about?
Nothing but my thoughts ;)

Oh goodness...
The informations are way too much to fit in this tiny little brain! Wish I have computer-like-brain in which I can just insert the information like a thumb drive for a computer.
Gotta lookout for virus though ;)

Stump!

The 5th post!
I am running out of ideas :D

Haiku 1

Creativity

One thing I like about Japanese media is that their creativity seems to be unlimited and flawless. Take this commercial for example.

Epiphany

Yesterday night I had a sudden realization in which i suddenly like korean songs. Hahaha!
I don't know how it happen but for sure I am glad it did. Honestly, before this, i do not like korean songs, korean dramas, korean food or anything that have to do with korean.
How it finally get to me? Influenced by friends? Maybe. Now I know that I've been missing out a lot by not listening to korean songs before. Right now I'm slowly indulging in their songs and perhaps their dramas in the future ;)

2NE1, one of my favourite group as of now :P

Brilliant Mind

Brilliant. Genius. Savant.
Words which describe a person with extraordinary mind. Einstein, is one of them. His name is often synonymous with the word genius.
Albert Einteins was truly a brilliant man with the inclination for knowledge and creativiness. He defined the fundamental law of the physic in which revolutionize science and our concepts for the world. Not only a man of science, Einstein are inclined to art and creativity as well. He once quoted

"It is the supreme art of the teacher to awaken joy in creative expression and knowledge."

Without art and imagination, there exist no science nor knowledge.
He once was a drop out due to his low grades in some subject but that did not stop him to pursue his quest for the truth.
His philosophical words and great thirst of knowledge inspires me greatly. As I am highly imaginative and fond of creativity, it is great to think that this man was once on the same ladder as myself.

Einstein, a true genius :)
